Russian Towers says MTS, MegaFon, Tele2 to sell towers soon

MOSCOW, Sep 14 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operators MTS, MegaFon, and T2 RTK Holding, working under brand Tele2, will follow VimpelCom’s suit and sell their tower assets soon, group of companies Russian Towers President Alexander Chub said on Tuesday.

“VimpelCom has let the genie out of the bottle. Now, he will pay a visit to the three addresses we know,” Chub said.

“I’m sure that in the next 12 months, all the events related to the change of owners of tower assets will happen. When exactly is another question. But Pandora’s box is open, all the others have no choice,” he said.

Amsterdam-based holding VEON, the sole owner of VimpelCom, working under brand Beeline, earlier agreed to sell 100% of National Tower Company, which operates 15,400 towers in Russia, to Service-Telecom for 70.65 billion rubles.
